History

Felix Bedlan, with his wife Jean, started in the gun business in 1950 with an appreciation of especially fine Winchester, Colt and Browning guns.  To this day they collect and deal in Collectors & Modern guns.

Felix is past president of the Winchester Club of America, Winchester Arms Collectors Association & Fairbury Optimist Club, as well as a Life Member of the National Rifle Association, Winchester Collector's Association, Winchester Arms Collector's Association, Colt Collector's Association, Ohio Gun Collector's Association, Dakota Territory Gun Collector's Association, North American Hunting Club, and was a Hunter Safety Instructor for over 40 years.

In 1971, Felix & Jean's son, Dan, joined the business full time after attending college.

 

Bedlan's Sporting Goods, Inc. has been on the same corner of U.S. Highway 136 & E Street in Fairbury, Nebraska since its beginning over 60 years ago.
